Neither do I. That seems to be the BD creedo... don't tell the player anything and don't tell them what anything does... not charms, not alchemist herbs, not skills. If they're too stupid to figure stuff out through trial and error, they don't deserve to finish the game!

I feel slightly better for having vented. Yes, it would be nice if someone could let us alchemy-challenged know how to use our expensive, hard-won skill. It may be something embarrassingly simple, but if the manual doesn't explain it and we can't figure it out, it becomes one more annoyance in a game that is building annoyances by the hour. Once we figure out how to do it, then it's a simple matter of gathering up all our herbs, then doing quicksave/quickload for about two hours whilst taking copious notes so we can figure out which herb we need to make the potion we want. *sigh*

I truly question some of the BD design decisions. The game itself is fun. The gameplay is driving me nuts.
