Alright, I've been wandering around for over an hour and have finally decided to seek help. On level 2, for the second summoning test I need a "Book of Summoning Strategies." Simply put, I can't find it. The merchant says he think theres another merchant somewhere and a guard said he saw the druggie taliking to an imp. Yet Nix and Tax, the two imps I know of, don't know [nocando]. Anybody got a suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Ahhh...I suspected as much but I can't get past the gate next to Nix and Tax and I can't figure out how to open two more gates when going through the thieves guild.

Ah, that's Agatha Christie - ask all suspects

Drug affair and book are combined.
1. library ask Antopar there for the book.
2. ask Ansukar (the one teaching theory of summoning)
3. then go to Belehram (specimen woman) - she gave it to her son Dolehar
4. speak to the students in her room (Dotharhar)
5. Dolehar will deny. Meanwhile you should ge the hint that an imp is involved
6. Now go to Tax and learn about Hoxplox - you get the key, enter the stairway there
7. Maintenance Tunnels 2 are open for you

The gate you can't open => is it the one with the lever on the other side? You can only access this part via key from Tax

I've done 1-3 and 5. I can't remember if I did 4 or not so I will try it. So far Tax won't say a word but that maybe because of 4. Thanks Kiya.

I think the DK sentence => he's lying, but how to prove it => triggers Tax option.
Even Xepatar the guard guarding the practice room (where the demons are) talks about a Raanaar talking to imps. So, there may be several people pointing out to Dolehar. Or the trader Bexhanar => one tried to sell the book to him.

I didn't use these - but the ones I mentioned => according to the options I got, wrote down and followed. I loved this QA game

It turned out that I missed someone in the Component sellers room so it was #4, and that enabled the conversation with Tax. Thanks for your help, it was much appreciated. I think Act IV is by far the best act for me. Many quests/puzzles, less action oriented.

I agree fully -there are real brain teasers in this act. That's the way I love an RPG.
