Yep, that's the guy, but the quest never arose in the dialogue box. He just mentioned his wife all the time. I killed the trolls (12 potions later) but got no xp for it, although everyone i spoke with congratulated me on getting rid of them. Still not really important as there's lot's more xp to be had.
