I installed patch 1.4 and the installation itself went fine and I
restarted the game completely. I have come accross what I think is a bug.
Every time I kill one of the bad guys in the citadel I get between 10 and 30
different items. After several hours of playing I have about 1500 arrows
of each type and I have about about $150,000 in gold. In short I simply
get too many items all the time !.

I think it has to do with the merchant restocking and better items thing. I pick-pocketed over servral hundred thousand gold worth of arrows and and over a hundred health poitons. I killed one later on and he drop all the stuff you could trade for/pick-pocket. I am glad I put all my points into pick-pocketing, I stole enough potions to let my DK tank, and enough to unlearn my DKs weapon skills everytime I find another weapon of a diffrent type!

The first time I played was at tactical level but this time around I decided
to play at action level. Maybe it was made this easy on purpose. As it is
it is simply not challenging anymore and this makes the game almost boring.
I am tempting to restart...again in tactical mode again but instead I am going
to leave the game alone for a few weeks and I will go back to it when
a few more patches have been created for it.

I think that is exactly what it is. All or most of the soldiers in the citedel will trade with you and so they are probably tagged as merchants. Whatever changes they made to merchant items restocking faster probably caused this. It probably doesn't effects enemies that you cannot trade with.

I'vnt downloaded the patch yet, but if herewith we gain tons of money and items, I'm not really interested in. Fun is gone if you can buy anything you want and healing up as much as you want.
With 1.32 there are maybe some bugs, but none are major to me, so I probably stay with it.

I'm with you on the pickpocketing thing: if a bug removes the challenge of a game, abusing it leaves the player that much poorer, in the end. It's easy to beat the world record for a 4-mile run if you're behind the wheel of a car--but somehow, the thrill is lacking when you've done it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Still, I would not suggest sticking with the 1.32 patch. There are many improvements and bug fixes that make the game more playable. What really needs fixing, at this point, is pickpocketing itself. The idea that anybody can grab multiple items or even a single large item from a merchant's inventory breaks the game's illusion of reality. At the most, you should be allowed to grab one item chosen randomly but of increasing value with an investment of more skill points, in my opinion.
