I'm in the barracks where you have to throw the 4 levers to open a door to continue (the BEWARE , TRAPS section..)
in this section there are 2 doors at the top-centre that are locked. how do i open them?

Search for Laurel in the drill grounds - he will challenge you to survive the trap parcours => these are the doors. Kiya

Question is, are you going through acting like a soldier? Or are you mowing through everything in your path like I'm going to do after I complete the barracks quests and like I did in my first game?

Hope you have a saved game before you charged in. The Deathknight warned you that you should put on the crappy armor to disguise yourself.
You didn't lose out on TOO much, but you probably murdered the guy in the NE lever room who teaches you sharpen. That is one fine skill. Everybody else's rewards you can get by murdering them (Deathknight sword from merchant, skill book from doctor).
You will rue the day you opposed me! Begin your rueing! I'll just... sit over here... and watch.

Hm and you missed the 2-hand melee skill up to lvl 5. And about 13 quests IIRC. This goes for all quests in the 2 last Citadel levels. Merely 172800 XP - so, you didn't miss much - nope. Kiya
All skills you missed => Warrior Craftmanship Warrior 2-hand Warrior defense Warrior ranged Warrior shield
I think, you might not miss the Summoning doll book as Kegan probably dropped a key when you murdered him. And I guess, the gay medic (you killed him?) dropped a key hopefully for the skillbook in his cupboard (alchemy, wizard elemental attack/defense/curse)
If you solved all quests first and went on rampage afterwards - then you really didn't miss anything

damn i missed out on hell of a lot of xp. 172800xp in arcade mode??
the skills i'm not fussed about. i've bought all of them from the battlefield merchants.
items i'm not really bothered either.. i'm constantly overloaded and being slowed down.

yes, if my calculator is correct - but who goes for XP... Uhoh... I'm sorry, I made an error ok, all quests are 145666 - though I'm not sure, if you get 7344 for imp Ounox and maybe 9504 for imp Rashax if the guards are dead or not. I think, the imps still talk to you? And then you get additionally 22464 XP for blowing the Citadel up. This is not included in 145666.
My error => there are quests excluding each other and I simply added them instead of reading and leaving them out (you see... me orc in maths...)

lol, just keep your blood-rage down until you beat the "boss" of this act, then rampage like a boar in heat through the barracks for nice slash-slash shinyness

Damned, i did not even find this armor DK spoken of. Or i had one but forgot to use it ... or maybe could not So it's screwed ... not cool cause i did alot of things beforce continuing so i wont restart to open those 2 doors ...
All the skills you mention can be bought at level 6 in the BattleField so no big loss.
No wait i know what was wrong, passing the citadel guard armor did nothing. i was attakced anyway. I noticed that if you change your armor after you entered the area, everything is like you were still wearing the first one. A annoying bug indeed. So if you want to change armor and have it effective you have to go in battlefield and come back so they will react to your new armor.

Match, as you entered the Citadel - a guard attacked you, right? And he dropped a key and an armour => there the speech option with the DK came to disguise yourself with this guard's armour (please, read your dialogue log - or did you exit this convo without using all speech options?) - and General Bram's/Bran's note on the table was a clue to be careful. You unlocked the door? Then the next warning came => sneak past the hostile DK. Kiya

slightly offtopic this one kiya.. my save game plonked me firmly at the set of steps that lead up to the drill-ground and barracks area.. but my character doesnt seem to have the crystal bag anymore.. please please please say that its on the barracks level somewhere (i cant remember where i got it from, i THINK the pentagram area...!??) i really hate stealthing past those DK's, infact its harder going back towards the exit than forward because of their route (they seem to teleport once theyve reached the end).

I hate to tell it to you, but the Crystal Bag disappearing is not part of the script.
OTOH if you're "lucky" to have the same bug I had, the DKs will be child's play since (in latest my game) for some reason they do not have any weapons, and have no skill at fighting bare-handed.

Bag => in the level where you had to fight 3 gargyoles and get the rune key, before you were teleported to the imp level and could unlock the door that "no normal key opens".
If you don't mind trudging back => take all the stairways to the imp level (poisonous tooth) - run through both maze levels and descend into the pit level (chained skeletons) - rush through the pentagram room and ascend to the last tiny one, where the pyramid was on an altar. => Bag.
Another thing => in 1.4 the bag is in your weapon inventory => did you check? And in 1.41... no clue, was addressed as fixed. Haven't installed it myself.
