I just managed yo get rank 1 in act 3. I then went to see the ranaar prisoner who said something about a cave. Does he mean the cave with the staff of power in it, because i have already retreived that, but the catacombs won't open. Help me somebody your my only hope.

Check the post called "Chapter 3 mistakes". It's still on the first page of posts on this forum. It has a discussion of this problem and work arounds.

I checked the post but it didn't help. I tried loading a previous save before i had spoke to the bishop. I then went back to the cave and put back the staff, then ran away and pretended it never happened. Unfortunatly the quest still seems broke, am i doing something wrong, is there something i've missed?

I think the point of the other thread was that you don't have to do every quest to obtain the highest rank and enter the temple. Keep checking the bulletin board for quests and do them. You'll be the highest rank soon enough and can continue from there.

Thanks for your help, but i'm already past the rank thing, i am already number 1, its the quest after that where im stuck. This also happens to be the main quest, so i don't think there is a work around

Hm, normally getting the quest from the Bishop, getting the staff - talking to the Bishop again (he says, open it) - and then clicking on the locked stairs => opens them. Does he have no speech option for this?

yes thats the problem no speech options, its like i still don't have the staff. There nothing in my journal either, about the quest. EGAD!

Wait a sec - you defeated Kiya, right? And the messenger came and said => Bishop wants to see you, right? And the Bishop told you something about the seal that needs to be broken or not, after you cleared the church?

yeah i killed you (sorry self defence) spoke to the messenger, then went to see the bishop. I then went to see the raan prisoner and he told me about the cave. The problem was i allready went to the cave ages ago and found the staff, and just kept it i didn't know what it was. Now the bishop won't recognise that i have it. I had a save from before i spoke to bishop, so i tried putting the staff back before speaking to the bishop. But i still have the same problem.
