I asked about moving the minimap off screen because I thought the screen itself might be shifted. I recently had to replace a dead monitor, and had to adjust the screen size and position in game because there was a difference between that and my desktop, both 1024x768.
If the minimap appeared properly in the corner of the screen, then that would not be your problem; if it was off screen, it might be.
