Ive started on tatical and have nearly finished i think act 1 level 1.....just freed the prisoner but find the level 5 ghosts much to tough ...only way i could take one out was to drink 4 health potions (and i only have 6 ).....with a couple more ghosts in cells to go...my guy is a warrior with 2 points in accuracy and one in damage...my other is a wizard with a combo spell in fire water and air combined....how can i take out a ghost a little easier...or carnt i?

Those ghosts are fairly tough. If you skip them and finish the corridor off (the minimap will let you know which cells contain hostile creatures) you should be able to go up another level, which will help with the ghosts.

Or get the Battlefield Key (it's possible to get it on the cellblock level), level up there, and go back and kill the ghosts.

Fergus was level 4 when you were level 3, so the level 4/5 difference should not be impossible.
I equipped my hero with a bow and stood at the south side of the corridor across from the cell. I opened the door with my DK warrior and attacked. A couple of the ghosts' hit points got quite low just as my DK's did, so rather than use a potion I ran away and let my hero kill them the next hit or two with an arrow. I think the other couple ghosts required a potion each for my DK.

Like Srikandi said, if you take out at least the left spider in the arena, it is possible to get the first battlefields key to level up.

This is pretty much the problem I'd been having with my PC, who was configured as an archer/mage. (I've restarted.) The problems are that the mage spells in Act I deliver very poor damage for a huge consumption of mana, while (in my opinion) archery is set far too low for accuracy and damage until your characters' stats really begin to improve at higher levels. It's melee and melee, in Act I, if you want the surest path to success.

Fable does that mean you have none as mage or any type of magic user combo?

Not in my second try at the first act, no. I'm going to start allocating spell skills in Act II, when decent spells become available.
