What is the current thinking on the best way to start a warrior off. Specifically (and feel free to comment on anything else):

1. For the first few levels what is a good set of attributes? Go with the default template and spread points around, go with the default template and add points to strength and vitality, or other?

2. Same for skills. Where should those first precious points best be spent (e.g. if there are no good swords until chapter 256 but a load of great maces crush is a bit more useful than slash - if detect traps 1 will save my life over and over in Chapter 1 that may be a "must get" skill even for a warrior).

3. Is there a clearly preferable division between main character and DK other than the standard "whichever you prefer based on your playstyle"? For example, is it REALLY useful to have a particular skill set to get through the beginning or would two hack and slash warriors be as good as anything else?

I'd replay the start a few dozen times and test it all out but my disk isn't cooperating <sob> and after playing one session I can't get back into the game <whimper> (yes I did a search, checked the FAQ and posted in the technical forum). This post is partly to show the Gods a perhaps irrational optimism that all will be well and I'll actually be able to play <knocks on wood> <must have hit too hard - the tree dies> <"rez please!!">

Reality is for those who cannot cope with fantasy. Fortunately, I can cope quite well.
