... The Battlefields is super-boring, so the idea of going through them yet again is pretty painful. As a result, people are less likely to re-play the game than they would be otherwise. I know this is true for me. So far I have restarted the game twice, playing almost all of Act I a total of 3 times. Both my 2nd and 3rd game I had plenty of fun replaying through the parts of the main story that I'd already done, but going through the Battlefields again was pretty bad...
Well, as I stated previously, Battlefields are optional (same with the Summoning Dolls). I think the more choices gamers have, the better off they are. BD and DD are 2 games that offer a great game to many types of players. As we can see here on the forums, there are a lot of people who prefer the action elements of BD and DD whereas, others prefer the quest solving abilities.
Larian did a great job at getting these two opposite ends of the market and putting them together in one game. Do you realize how difficult a task that is?
