Match is right, wrong weapon equipment can mess these things up! My Death-knight has 2-handed weapon skill slashing and the critical hit is at 6. With a two-handed sword he throws a critical hit almost every time!
When I changed to another sword he didn't throw any criticals anymore. When I checked everything the sword seemed to be a single-handed weapon (but I couldn't equip a shield)! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
So check your weapons, just in case...
