There are two boss enemies? Oh, freaking great. As I've said, I spent nearly three hours without putting a single hitpoint of damage on what apparently was the first boss enemy... although I managed to kill the minions he summoned... so clearly didn't even get a glipse at a second one before I gave up. I don't mind spending 3 hours, or even 6 hours, on a final battle even if I'm doing damage. But not being able to hit? Not even once in all that time? I missed every danged time. Missed as it was simply unable to hit even at point blank range (with several points in Point Blank and Accuracy).

Maybe this is yet another bug... maybe the boss is supposed to be totally immune to all arrow damage (but it didn't say hit for 0 damage, it said, Missed, Missed, Missed, Missed... even with splitting arrows, where I had several points in Splitting Arrow competency as well.) So was it deliberate, I wonder, that this enemy could not be harmed by bows? Or was it merely an accident because nobody had tested him against bow/arrow damage? Or is it a bug that has cropped up without rhyme or reason? I dunno. I'm leaning toward the bug thing, because because I handed my character a spear, a piercing weapon with which she had no proficiency, she took a poke at him and instantly drew blood. A small amount of blood to be sure, but blood nonetheless.

As for the Hammer spell... my character was a survivor. She had no spells. She concentrated on her bow, and could shoot the eye out of level 35 monsters, killing them with two shots... one if it was Crit. She had put nearly all of her skill points into her weapon of choice... a weapon that acould not hit the boss even once. Unfortunately, I couldn't even use traps; I had given the trap ability to my Death Knight because it took all of my survivor's skills just to make her a *cough* viable archer. Stupid, in retrospect. But then again, Larian had to realize there would be many such situations.

My main point in posting this was to make Larian aware that the end boss in at least one person's game cannot be affected by bows/arrows at all. If they meant that to happen, if it was supposed to be a joke of some kind, shame on them. If they didn't mean it to happen, well, they may want to look into it because I won't be the only player to fall into the trap of believing a ranged weapons specialist to be a viable alternative... when clearly it is not. At least it wasn't viable in my particular game, under V. 1.42.

I'm not saying I'll never buy another Larian game. But I certainly won't be touting Larian as "the gaming company to watch" on other bulletin boards, as I've done for the past year, or rip their games off the shelves the day they arrive, as I did with Beyond Divinity. Lesson learned.
