Interesting problem, related to copy protection?

BD will not find the BD CD in any of my SCSI cd/dvd-roms, even if installed from one of them. I can live with this; it will find the BD disk in my ATAPI dvd burner.

What I find more troubling is that BD seems to periodically start powering my SCSI LVD drive on and off when the game is in the foreground. The "drive seeking/resetting (?)" behaviour stops when I alt-tab back to the XP desktop. Apart from the fact that I don't like my drives repeatedly resetting (and they DON'T exhibit this behaviour at any other time), I also eventually get a system hang that culminates in an attractive blue screen of death which irritatingly doesn't give me any error code.

Any suggestions apart from a no-cd hack?

Thanks!

FWIW, I have a SCSI DVD drive and CD-RW, and have not had this problem with either, though only tried the CD-RW once (Win 98SE, Adaptec 2940 UW).
