On my previous PC, I have had that very same problem with the demo.
I solved it by using later nvidia drivers.
But it is best to follow the careful procedure:
1) uninstall driver
2) use standard SVGA driver
3) use any utility to wipe out remnants of previous nvidia driver (see guru3D site)
3) install new nvidia driver.
