Did a search and couldn't find this topic, so I'll start off. Just saw a couple of game shows covering E3 and footage from some upcoming RPG's.

Looks like XBox has 3 great ones upcoming. Fable, Sudeki, and BioWare's Jade Empire. I believe the latter will be on the PC also. The videos of Fable and Jade Empire, for some reason look a lot like Morrowind, updated, but very similar.

I caught a few minutes of E3 on the Tech channel last night (and promptly fell asleep which is not a testament to the quality of the event but rather the state of the viewer) so I didn't get to see much. Anyway, I've been looking forward to Sierra's release of The Bard's Tale (which is for the XBox, I believe) and Peter Molyneux's RPG, Fable. And Fuff, I think you're right. Fable looks like it may be along the lines of Bethesda's TES series (Morrowind). I haven't come across any reviews or articles about Jade Empire but will do an internet search** to see what I can learn. **Here is Bioware's site for Jade Empire

I think it was about 4 years ago I stumbled across a game called "Daggerfall". It was an expensive game (by my standards) at the time it was released but I figured "what the heck, it's only money," so I bought it. Daggerfall was vastly different from any other game I had ever played and immediately fell in love with the concept. Since that time, I've been an avid fan of Bethesda's RPGs which mainly have been "sequels" to The Elder Scrolls (TES). I later found out that Daggerfall was the 2nd in the series. "Arena" was the first. Redguard (which I was a beta tester for), is the third and of course, the fourth, Morrowind (my all-time favorite RPG in that particular genre) along with the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansion packs. Many developers have tried to emulate TES' format, but none come close to Morrowind's depth. Although I haven't played Knights of the Old Republic so my opinion may change one of these days.

But getting back to E3. I've never been to any of the game developer's conferences (only to food technology conferences. What a wild bunch they are. I mean, come on! How much more can be done with a chicken??? <--------- just kidding).

There's a new Zelda coming for the Gamecube, and that little green man, Link, is now grown up. It is a darker game from what I could tell.

For the PC, BioWare is coming out with (trying to recall) Dragon Age, or something like that. Looks like a questing party will be coming back in vogue. Also, Dungeon Lords looks pretty impressive.

Bioware's Dragon Age is still in production as is Jade Empire. Both are games I'm looking forward to taking a look at as they approach their release date.

I took a look at the Tech channel's line up to see if they would be broadcasting anymore from E3 today but couldn't find anything. Is today the last day? Or does E3 run until tomorrow? One of these years I'm going to attend a gaming conference. I know that's something I'd enjoy.

And it's true confessions time. I have never played any of the "Zelda" games. *cowers in the corner* I know! I *should* be shot! (LOL)

Great discussion!
