Faralas:

"I think it was about 4 years ago I stumbled across a game called "Daggerfall". It was an expensive game (by my standards) at the time it was released but I figured "what the heck, it's only money," so I bought it. Daggerfall was vastly different from any other game I had ever played and immediately fell in love with the concept. Since that time, I've been an avid fan of Bethesda's RPGs which mainly have been "sequels" to The Elder Scrolls (TES). I later found out that Daggerfall was the 2nd in the series. "Arena" was the first. Redguard (which I was a beta tester for), is the third and of course, the fourth, Morrowind (my all-time favorite RPG in that particular genre) along with the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansion packs." Many developers have tried to emulate TES' format, but none come close to Morrowind's depth. Although I haven't played Knights of the Old Republic so my opinion may change one of these days."

Ah, Daggerfall. I wrote the official strat guide for the game. You were a tester for Redguard. I wrote the Redguard strat guide too. BTW, Bethesda has now released Arena as freeware. It's a 9 meg download, and I fooled with it the other night. Lots of un.

"And it's true confessions time. I have never played any of the "Zelda" games. *cowers in the corner* I know! I *should* be shot! (LOL)"

Neither had I under a recent jag over the last 2 years of buying any console with 3 decent rpg's. I play the games and sell everything on eBay. That way, gaming is practically free. My next console will be the XBox because of Sudeki, Fable, Jade Empire, and the most addictive non-rpg ever Halo and Halo 2.

I had never played a Zelda either. In my Gamecube period last year, I played the Windwaker. It was terrific.

"Great discussion!"

I agree.

As for XBox prices, just returned from an EB Games. They're selling refurbished but warranted Xboxes for $99 after a rebate. Same goes for PS2. I would have mentioned this to the prior poster, but I noticed Belgium is the locale, and I believe machines released for Europe are different than here in the U.S. If not, and if he/she happens to read this, check it out.
