Hi,

I am a level 12 using the unique sword given by the merchant in the Citadel. When I equip a shield, it doesn't show on the "paper doll" nor does it show on my character. The "paper doll" indicates that it is there and her arm is crooked as if carrying a shield but none shows. Is this a glitch?

I have the latest English patch (1.44) and did not equip either the sword or shield prior to installing the patch.

Isn't the deathclaw sword from the merchant a 2 handed sword? Try removing the sword and see if the shield shows up.

It is the unique sword given by the merchant in the Citadel. When I took it off my "paper doll" and put it in inventory, the shield showed up again. As soon as I re-equipped it, the shield disappeared again. *shrugs* It must be a two handed sword though it looks more like a one-handed. It's just odd to me that the shield keeps itself on the paper doll rather than putting itself back into inventory.

Well, you can still always unequip the shield yourself. I guess the shield stays equiped, even though it's not, so that next time you want to equip a one handed weapon, you'll know what shield you last used.

Yup exactly, unequip the weapon, you then should see the shield in the other hand.
