I have collected three battlefield keys in act2 and I am quite sure they were not all level 3 keys when I first found them. I know there are duplicate keys around but I am pretty sure one of my keys used to be a level one. I have upgraded to the latest patch. The first key, I received after killing a monster in the prison while rescuing the imps and I am sure it was level one.

When you click on a key, it will list the higher value of its own level and the maximum value have found so far. As you found, once you have the level 3 key, clicking on the level 1 or 2 keys will give you the message that you have access to level 3 of the battlefields.
BTW, you do not need to pick up the BF keys, just clicking on them is enough.

Oh, you have to press your mouse and go down the way => mark it, then you can read all 6 key locations.

There are 6 dungeons in act 2, or 6 keys at least (I only visited the BF for the traders). Are you sure there are not 2 open dungeons somewhere else?

Oh, I thought there were only three dungeons. I will go and look again, thanks.
