I was just contemplating the good old days in the orc village with a nice little bow, some split arrow and a few potions of poison. Ahh those where good times Well I think the BD skills are cool and the sharpen weapon is particularly nice but I am a little unhappy that poison weapons dont work on bows. It was so much fun using it in DD.

Even though I don't use bows, I believe you can buy poison arrows. As well as other cool arrows like shadow arrow, bone arrows, fire arrows etc...

Yes!! I didn't use a bow but I loved picking the right mushrooms, collecting bottles, making the poison and applying it to my weapons. It was interactive, "realistic" and fun.

Agreed. I liked alchemy the way it was. Sure, sometimes it took a long time before you found the right herbs or mushrooms, but it was simply... god how do I explain this... a nice feeling. The feeling that you're actually in the game making those potions.

This automated combining of certain herbs you picked up is so unpersonal. Not even to mention that you don't need an empty bottle anymore, which is just plain weird.

On the other hand, what were the DD characters doing with the flasks from all the potions they drank? They certainly were not reducing, reusing or recycling.

oops, missed a 'not'

That's one thing I remember from Quest for Glory. Used potions left you with an empty flash that you could sell back to the potion makers for a small refund. Good to see a game encouraging recycling!

Good point, where did all the flasks go. Clumsy human how could you break all the empty bottles

You can still throw poison barrels in an interactive realistic way... sadly it doesn't kill anymore, only make sick (at least on NPC), didn't try it on enemies.

Oh, I had Brother Raze and Crazy Barnie throwing up nicely - dragged 2 barrels all the way from Act 2 into Act 4 (400 and 300 weight) - why? Because an Austrian gamer killed his DK in a very early German version and was able to carry on alone. Guess, this was taken out in later ones. I couldn't kill

IIRC one more point of poison damage after that should kill the victim
