Try leaving one character on the other side of the village, or something, when you talk to the imp hero and send him home. Someone else found that got them past the hanging cut scene.
After you get the alchemist to make the cure you will reach the shaman's realm (put this off until you have complete all other quests).
There is no use for the drudanae herb (in DD it could be used to make a super drug).
