Even though he said that, he did well to stress the gameplay over graphics argument!

Besides if it was in 3D it'd have different gameplay...be a completely different game, rather than simply 'looking different' it'd play completely different!

Can't we live in a world with both? 2D and 3D...

3D may be the most popular kid in highschool...but they're usually the most shallow!

2D rocks!

Personally I didn´t find anything wrong with the graphics. And why it should be 3D? I don´t understand that. If something is nice, is nice period. I liked the graphics in I could play without wearing my glasses. I liked the colours and I liked the details in my char and equipment. Why I should ask more? Plus the game runs perfectly with my GeForce2 old card. And that is what made me very happy. Why should I have to change my card in order to play a game if the requirements are huge?

I think in order to go forward we sucrifice quality. Because in spite that the graphics in are 2D the quality is superb. For me other things are important in a game and 2D graphics is not among them. In fact I don´t care as long as I can see my char and the environment and don´t have to navigate camera with the mouse. I remember when I played Anachronox or whatever is called. I didn´t even finish the first part. This game was the reason I got blind I am sure of that.

Because some reviewers have bought into every bit of PR spewn out by the gaming companies. You're right: there's no need for every game to follow all the others. But alas, some people think like that. Can't say I ever heard of DeadAlfs before, and can't say I'm going to seek out their pages to examine any more reviews of theirs, again, if that's an average sample of their work.

I don't think the graphics side of 3D means as much as the *gameplay* side. After playing Guild Wars I can safely say 3D RPGS have more combat depth: TO THE HIGH GROUNDS!

But alas, I like purdy pre-rendered backdrops. Unforfunately BD's arnt exceptionally amazing; nothing jaw-dropping in here like the good ol' days. The perspective feels really stale, as it did in DDiv, but that's a minor problem.

Well recently I have played Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon and I have wrote a review for it. You can find it in www.gamerspot.gr I have played the other two games of the series and I have noticed that the 2D graphics which became 3D in the Sleeping Dragon are very nice. But that does not make the other two previous games less valuable. I loved the 2D cartoon style graphics in the first two series. 3D graphics was pretty too, but personally I would have played the SD even if it was in 2D and enjoy it very much. I know BS series are adventure games but to me it is the same with RPG since I like both genres very much. That is of course my personal opinion.
