Are battlefields random? People are talking about some monster with an item I could use but I don't see the monster anywhere. Also, the glowing coral portals, are those just entrances to new floors of a dungeon or another part of the battlfield? Thanks.

Look around the battlefield for the glowing corel portals you should be able to work the rest out for yourself.

Utumno, each ground level entry has 2 more underneath. And your boss monster/item is in the 3rd level. I had 3 at one time and then none in the other.

Okay, on the third floor there are only 5 rooms and no item, boss nothing. Also, one of the islands on the battlefield is populated with ghosts. I just used 19 out of 23 health potions to stay alive. Should I have done that if I had to use up almost all my potions or should I reload and avoid that area until I'm tough enough?

1st did you use the alt key to see if there was anything on the ground in the dungeon.

2nd yes i would reload and get a few more lvls before coming back to that one.

I have this problem as well. This is my first time in the act 1 BF with one key and just got my second key and still nothing. I have 4 quest to do here.

There are always more potions... although early in Act I you might be better off waiting. By the time I finished Act I I was rolling in both potions and cash (and I don't do any of those stupid arrow tricks, or whatever), so don't worry about those.

As for the empty dungeon, it happens sometimes. In my Act II BF, I didn't have a single boss in dungeon one, I had two in dungeon two, so I presume that I've got three left in dungeon three. It happens. The perils of random generation...
