The easiest ways to make money and to get many potions are:
1) get the pickpocket skill and use all the skill points you have in it
2) use the other character to buy the convert arrow skill. I think explosive arrows level 3 is the max in BF I.
3) Buy all the normal arrows you can from the vendors. Zone out of the BF and then back again. The merchants now have more arrows(and more items including potions). Once you have a good amount of arrows, give them to the char. with convert arrows. After you convert them, you'll have about 10-15 percent of the original amount, but they are now worth 93gp each instead of one. Repeat.
4)After you get a good number of explosive arrows, place them in the trade menu. Buy as much as you can with the arrows. After the trade, pickpocket the arrows back. Go to the next vendor. You can pickpocket about 5 times for each vendor this way at level 6. Remember that every time you zone out, then back to the BF, the merchants have new arrows, potions, etc.
5) Once you run out of pickpockets, you can still convert arrows and use them as money.
6) When you are done loading up, change your skills back to whatever you want. You should be able to afford it now.
