1) Do you use items that have better armor or more other bonuses? I've got so many items I'm hoarding I can't decide which ones are better to wear. I've got alot of speed/initiative boosting items but they are only Armor 1.

2)What enhancing stones should I be looking for if I have a warrior as a main character? I found one that increases health so far but the rest have been for magic points etc.

I'm not overly concerned with armour class, since my hero is a ranger, and have traded an armour class 13 breastplate without bonuses for one with an armour class of 10 and a few bonuses. With my DK warrior, I'd take the lower armour class belt / amulet with better bonuses if is just a difference of a couple points.
I's suggest you swap equipment and play for awhile. If you notice that your characters are taking more damage with the same monsters, swap them back.

When I get some items with charm slots, I am planning to use a couple vitality charms, them strength / agility for my warrior. With my ranger I'll skip the vitality, and probably go with more agility than strength.

That's just it, I don't know which charms do what. I sold almost all of the items so I'll have to try again when I accumulate more. By the way, is it worth cranking up the survival skill just to get better loot?

I would boost survival more for its effects on initiative and (to a lesser extent) elemental resistances than for luck. I've mostly kept survival and speed not too far below my character level, though others have concentrated more on strength or agility and done fine.

I would suggest that you keep an eye out for items with 3 or 4 charm slots and use them even if the Armor factor is lower than other items you have.

Remember that an item with 4 charm slots filled with Gold Charms = 4 additional levels of stat points. I primarily use Ydra (str), Joph (agility), Zand (survival), Vorr (Constitution), and Koor (intelligence) charms in my gear and use my normal points to round off the character stats.

Too bad I can't pluck the charms out of my old items!
