well, 3 hours are too long for a 28MB file. u can make it shorter in fact, if u have download managers as what u suggested. maybe it's the line that causes the slowdown.

i use that freebie called freshdownload & it works very well despite the download being cut off quite often. thankfully the downloads are resume-able. 28MB can be downloaded within 2 hours.
