Dude, If you can't find any potions use the battlefield option. They got a bunch of people their that will sell potions to you and armor. Not to mention there is weak monsters their that you can use to lvl up. The first battlefield key is "Inside a locked chest in the prison area where you start the game. The key to this chest is found inside the arena on the Prison level. Or it is just sitting out there in the open in the room immediately after exiting the Maze level". Quote from GameFaqs.com.
