Can skill points be shared with the hero and death knight or does each one need to have his own? If the hero has 3 points in slashing does the death knight automaticaly get 3 points in slashing as well?

Well, sort of. If only 1 person has Identify then whomever picks up an unknown item will have it ID'd. (I think I'm right on this)
That's what I like about the party system. Skill points like ID, repair, pickpocket etc can be given to the non-combat character allowing the warrior to specialise how he likes. Even the dolls, my summoned skelleton was a handy thief <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> so I just have him do all the pickpocketing.

Luck is divided between the party too.

So to clarify:

My warrior has 89 skill points in luck but DK only has 10. I thought I read somewhere that if I use my warrior to open chests, barrels, etc, his luck skills will apply so I'll find lots of good items. In other words, DK could have 0 skill points but it won't matter because he's not the one finding/picking up items. Do I have this right, or do I need to up DK's skill points as well?

ForkTong/Larians said this => luck is the average between both chars. So, I'd try to keep both closer together, if I were you. I do this with luck bonus items.
