I patched to 1.44 on Friday night (Fri. May 21). That's all I did got the wand quest from the guy on the right, saved, got my butt kicked by Sammy, reloaded and entered the battlefields. I then uncovered the complete Battlefields, and entered the first dungeon. When I was on the bottom level of the dungeon, I decided to leave the battlefields, this placed me in the marketplace of the battlefields. I then attempted to try to leave again and I keep getting placed in the BFs. I do see the loading screen for a split second.
P.S. Patch sequence, 1.00 to 1.32 to 1.42 to 1.43 to 1.44.
As for 1.44 I patched to it while standing in front of the Academy Entrance, then proceeded to Act 4.
