In Independence day the part where it was explained how the laptop was able to connect with the alien vessel (compatible technology) was cut from the movie (I suppose they thought action was more important than plausbility) but included in the video release. Destroying the mothership only dissabled the shields and therefore allowed contemporary weapons from penetrating and destroying the samaller vessels. I think ID4 was a brilliant movie, and made me proud to be an AMERICAN.... hey I'm Australian, what am I thinking.... it's all that American propaganda.... it's finally getting to me..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" /> (but seriously, it cant be just me, it couldnt have been that bad, it was a box office hit around the world.) I must point out though, that at the end of the movie, that must have been the longest lasting cigar in the history of the world.
