I got the quest to go back in time and steal the founders bone, in act IV, academy level 3.

Ok, seems simple enough.. go through the rift get the bone and get your reward when you return.. right? Wrong.. it creates a paradox and the guy doesn't have a clue what your talking about and says the bone was stolen years before. I get all this and truth be told I have so much gold whats a couple hundred thousand more, but I wanted the exp pts and it still shows up on my log book. Am I missing something?

This quest is buggy at the moment: you are supposed to get XP - though the student still does not remember (that's ok). You get XP in any case, if you refuse the quest (not meddle with time). Sorry.
Kiya

Your quest log goes back into "success" state - instead of moving on to "completed".

I had to go back and try each way. You definitly get more exp pts if you don't take the quest. I got 35904 exp for turning him down, and 13330 for going through the rift. And if you turn him down it doesn't stay in your log book.

Correct - but if the quest would work properly the way you did it the 1st time => more XP. I don't know if this will be fixed - or if the Larians decided to keep this paradoxon. Why? Well, I thought it rather clever => meddle with time and you can't complete a quest given in the future and therefore changing the past - therefore changing the future and making this quest impossible to solve (think I'm getting a headache now... )

Errhm, you know what I mean?
