This is a late post in this thread; my game does the same thing.
The check disc protection does its thing and then disappears after that nothing happens.
All I did was create a shortcut game icon to my desktop and then simply I double clicked on it, after the check disc protection, and my game started right up with no problems at all.
Anyway, late post I know, but maybe it’ll help someone.
