Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Available Training

I'd like to know what people do about all of the different training available as you progress throughout the game. My tendency is to only buy the training I *think* I'm going to want to use. (Unfortunately, I have occasionally passed training that later I wish I had taken.)

My question is: Do you think it's better to grab any and all training? Or do you tend to be selective?

Gold is pretty abundant in the game, but you can quickly run low (especially buying charms). Since merchants' inventories change all of the time, I'm afraid I won't have the gold to get something I really want when the opportunity presents itself.

This may seem like a silly question. But I'm really curious about other people's playing styles and how it's worked out for them. Thoughts?

One more thing: How frequently is available training reapeated with different characters? Is there anything offered by *only one* trainer?

I tend to buy anything I think I may need but skip stuff I KNOW I won't. For example, if I'm not playing an archer and know I won't convert a character to an archer I obviously won't buy archery skills. As you say, skills are cheap and money is plentiful.

The battlefield merchants sell pretty much anything you need - at a high price - so if you miss buying something you can catch up even if you need to wait for the next act for the merchants to upgrade their selection of skills.

I don't recall a skill I needed that a BF merchant didn't sell.

I tended to buy anything that looked vaguely useful or interesting the first time through. When I get around to playing the game again, I will pick up only those skills I know I will need <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

The first time, there was no real clue what things do until I tried them. Second time, I'll know.
