I have the rare mushroom but when I talk to the mushroom imp he there is no dialog about finding his mushroom. How do I get him to take the mushroom?

I assume you have set the necessary triggers i.e. he asked you to get the 'shroom to feed to his little friends.

Act 4 is full of bugs like this. Dropping the item and picking it up again often works - sometimes you need to move a few rooms away for it to help.

Nightmares - was it the mushroom from Little Mushroom forest? A large red one? Or a green one?

Nope, I think you spoke to the imp IN the house, hm? Mafnirx? He didn't want the mushroom in the first place - look for an imp named "Mushroom Farmer" outside - try again, please

The rare mushroom from the little mushroom forest is red, IIRC. The farmer that wanted it is standing outside his house (the one that contained the mushroom extract), #15 on this map. I took the extract before talking to the imp farmer, and unless the chest was locked with no key around, I would have opened that as well. There was nobody inside the house.
