the problem with neverwinter nights (NWN) is that whether u'er good or evil, it doesn't make much difference other than an alternative means (which are very very limited) to do a quest. in the end, u still save the world & a goodie. not so immersive to me.
well, u can accuse <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> of being the same but at least it doesn't pretend that u can be bad.
what would be great for the choice of being good or evil is that the storyline will change because of your actions. of course such open-endedness may make a game very non-linear & therefore more difficult to design & make & not to forget, buggy.
