check out their site, www.thewitcher.com. a promising concept, to say the least. the storyline is what interests me, though. the witcher? pretty cool, i should say so. i hope they deliver on that promising concept.

by the way, i seem to notice that most of the better rpg's are made by non-americans. sacred, divine div, beyond div, gothic, were made by europeans, while bioware, one of the best-known names in rpg's is canadian, if i'm not mistaken. don't mean to be racist here, just a point of observation. and i'm from asia, and i don't recall any good rpg's on the pc from asia as well, save for the final fantasy series which are from japan and other excellent rpg's on the consoles.

europeans and canadians seem to get a good grip on the pc rpg market, it seems to me at least.

Yes, I've read about it in the local (german) magazine called "Gamestar".

@ cleglaw: sorry about the link. i don't know why it didn't work.

@ womble: thanks a load for pitching in for me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

nonetheless, i do think it's an interesting game, hence i posted to inform the rpg-loving community about it.

The link's fine for me. Perhaps the site was just down for a while.

On a second look, the site is filled with broken links and pages with authorisation restrictions on them, including the Contact page, so I can't inform them of such problems.

The game looks kind of interesting. I like that they're specialising the game to one class. It ensures that there will be less loop-holes and problems. The graphics look a good deal better then Neverwinter Nights. I probably won't be overly interested, but I'll keep watch.

Thanks for that, crusader! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

@ janggut, thanks for pointing that out. though for me, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. i guess it's because that site is still relatively new,as the game is still new. i think they're still adding improvements on the site as the game is being developed.

@handedfood: you're welcome. i just love rpg's that's why i try to browse from time to time if there's anything new on the rpg scene.\

as for the others who can't link, my apologies. maybe it will be better to just open a browser and type that website's name.

i do think that the team behind that project is bent on making a good game. besides, i've read that they'll be using an enhanced version of the aurora engine. well, i guess we'll just have to wait 'til 2005 to find out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I seem to remember reading that book... Ah of course! Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski!
Was a fun read (yet I have no idea if it was deliberate).

Hmmm..looks interesting and promising. I hope it doesn't need a super computer depsite its visuals. Story and game features sound nice.

The screen shot with the wrecked ship on the bank was very impressive I thought, and if that excellent shadow effect across the ship is dynamic?...yum!

It uses the NWN engine. I have no idea though if they tweaked it and if yes, what did they change.

They've tweaked it quite a bit it would seem. I wouldn't have recognised it looking at the screenshots but when I viewed the trailer you can see the similarities.

Combat looked a bit iffy...collision detection seemed quite off. Still it's only under development.
