I'm having a battlefield problem in Act II. Once I find the Level 3 battlefield key, the message associated with going to the battlefield indicates level 3 ("Enter Battlefields Current Level 3"), as it should. However, once I enter the battlefield, the level 3 entrances are locked and the message associated with exiting the battlefield indicates level 1! ("Leave Battlefields Current Level 1"). I've clicked on the Level 3 key many times, even dragged it into my inventory and took it to the battlefield--still, the level 3 entrances are locked and the exit message still indicates that I'm at level 1.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm running v1.440, but the list of fixes for v1.450 doesn't mention anything like this.

My system is running XP Home with twin 3.2GHz Pentium 4's, 2GB RAM, and a 9800 XT.

Are you sure you are at the level 3 dungeon? There are 6 dungeons in the act 2 BF, and from what I understand, #3 is not right beside 1 and 2. Also, there is only 1 way to leave the BF, so there is only 1 level for that.

Yes. As you say, there are a total of 6 dungeons in the Act II battlefield. I have completely explored the three level 1 dungeons and repeatedly trudged out to the more distant level 3 dungeons to verify that they are still locked. As one might expect, the entrances to the higher level dungeons are farther from the battlefield "home" area (where the traders are) and distant from the lower level entrances.

Maybe you could do me a small favor, if you still have a save game after you found the Level 3 battlefield key. Enter the battlefield, then click on the leave battlefield icon in the secondary skill menu. Exactly, what does it say?

Three level 1 dungeons?

dungeon 1 is level 1
dungeon 2 is level 2
dungeon 3 is level 3

finding a level 3 battlefield key unlocks dungeon 3 and all dungeons lower than that.

If you find a level 6 battlefield key all dungeons are locked.

So you still need to find the other battlefield keys to unlock the other dungeons.

I believe you are absolutely right! Surprisingly, JaggedJim's walkthrough [color:"blue"] [/color] (http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/beyond_divinity.txt) [color:"white"] [/color] lists only level 1 through 3 battlefield keys. From this, mostly quite helpful file, I assumed that there weren't any keys above 3. However, I believe I'm presently closing in on the Act II level 6 key. Which brings up another question. I'm in a cave in the southern end of the Lava forest. The entrance to this cave is blocked by hot, uncrossable, chasms. I solved this by tossing one of my teleport stones to the other side of the chasm and teleporting across. Although this worked, I wonder if this is the way you're supposed to cross?

Yes, that's the right/only way to cross the lava.

I have found that if you find the battlefield keys out of sequence then you can only seem to go to level one even if you have found all the keys. It also doesn't help if you first hit level 2, then level 1 and then go back to the level 2 (or 3 or whatever) key, you will always only be in level one, even though the message when you go to the battlefields tells you you are going to what ever the highest level key you found. because of this, I only use the battlefields as a spot to buy or sell items or if I need a rest.
