One of the vendors in the 2nd BF asked me to find the Brown rabbits hat. I have it, but I am not receiving a different dialog box. IIRC i did not beat a boss to get it. Does this mean there will be another one? Or is this a bug?

The item has the name "rabbit hat"? And you found it in one of the end dungeon rooms of your BF? What does your quest log do, if you click on it in your inventory and move it around? Does it turn red, meaning - has it understood, you've got the quest item? Kiya

i'm guessing it's an other one you need. All the items i needed to find were in the posession of a boss. Or should at least be somewhere special like a nice looking chest or in a cupboar you need a safire key to or something like that. If you got it of a skeleton well look further.

Donselaar - I recall a (very early) version, where I simply found 2 quest items in an abandoned 3rd level of the BF on the ground - one was in a barrel though, a bit hidden. One was a flask. So, I do not know, if newer versions are different. In any case => the quest log should turn red to indicate, you've got something important. Kiya

It does not turn the log book icon red. But I will try what you said to do in the mushroom thread, "throw it on the ground and then pick it up".

Are all non quest items found in the BFs randomly generated?

All non-quest items are random.
If the quest is to get an item in the possession of a specified entity, that entity is ALWAYS on the bottem level of a dungeon. The small third level.
If the quest is just to get an item, the item is ALWAYS just lying on the floor on the bottem level.
Due to some bugginess occasionally an item or entity isn't there even if you try every dungeon and the quest has to fail.
Reality is for those who cannot cope with fantasy. Fortunately, I can cope quite well.

haha. ari's right and also one other thing. make sure you have exactly the named quest item. sometimes you can have 'the green leggings' or 'the green leggings of strength' but the quest called for 'the green leggings of running real fast so you can get away from those monsters that are chasing you with nasty weapons'. all green leggings are not created equal.

speaking of rabbit's hat, does it look like rabbit ears? i found somewhere in act 1, classroom, a set of donkey ears. imagine my delight and amusement upon donning them to see the graphic change, reminding me of the Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night's Dream.
