Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Error receiving the dragon breastplate quest?

I really have searched so apologies if this is duplicative:

i think i may have a bug receiving the breastplate quest.. i got the axe of stone, talked to the king, but he never gave me the quest...congratulated me but never told me to go to sir patrick..can no longer talk to the king about anything other than why are the mines dangerous, where is the entrance, tell me of the river, and can i visit the *dwarf name* halls. i have the belt, the gloves and the shield. oh yes and the dragon gem as well. um..i have gotten the grail...i explicitly recall giving the letter to the king; this is supported by it no longer being in my inventory...and yes, just to be safe i have checked all my chests to make sure i didn't store it... wondering if this is also the part of the route to permanately killing josephina, as i am also down an elven ceremonial item. i can only assume that she has it as i was not able to finish the job.

i am off to go look some more, but...help? and, i am under the impression that i have all my patches; i am at v1.34

If you brought the letter implicating Gregor and the stone axe to the king, he should have brought up the breastplate. Did you maybe talk to the dwarven council member first (in which case he would take the axe)?

The third elven ceremonial item is the staff Josephine drops when defeated, though it can sometimes be in the locked chest at the back of the room. Check your weapon inventory, and search Josephine's room (hit the alt key and move the cursor around the stairs or any walls which could be obscuring where the staff might have dropped).
