the only purpose for this mirror is to duplicate the key found at as many times as possible at 7 here is that correct?

is there an experience award if you get all 4 doors open?

is it possible for the mirror to never break, so that you can copy the key a 4th time, thus keeping the original and still opening all 4 doors (by dropping the original, and opening a door with the duplicate, then picking up the original to duplicate again)?

you must drop the original to duplicate it more than once because the copies don't work with the mirror, and if you open a door with the original in your inventory, the original is used before the copy(ies) is (are).

No additional XP award in my games.
In my XP, the mirror broke after 1-2 keys - but I know of one gamer here, who was luckier => 3.
I dropped a duplicate once - and it vanished from the ground, so I lost one key. wish, I would know the correct procedure => totally random or luck, don't know. (Tried it with a high luck boost and a low one, saw no reliant result)

When I was at that point, I placed the 'real key' in a known position in the inventory, made a copy, which appeared in an other position, gave that copy to the dk, then made another copy. I was able to make three copies before the mirror bust.

The sad thing is ... I didn't want any of the stuff in three of the rooms ... I was really just hoping for the xp.

But an interesting exercise. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Ha, brilliant, Bravo <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> - never tried giving the duplicate to the DK <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif" alt="" />
Kiya <off to load her save and try it out>

Edit: my chars have luck 84 and 45 - and I was only able to get 3 keys in toto (2 duplicates+original). Hmph, it's back to my random theory again. I could use the key 2x after those 2 duplicates and had no additional key - third time the mirror broke.

And same result => placing duplicates on the ground, makes them vanish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> - original remains on the ground.

2nd edit => tried your method Everyman => same result, maximum of 3 keys in toto.

Tell me how and I'll send you three of mine ... I only used one of them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Progress report: I'm now on the third of the Academy summining quests ... don't think I've done it right, but having a nice battle with Mr Samuel (or a double) ... when I reload from being slaughtered. New/different tactics called for here (my most powerful killers are the spikes trap and the hammer spell ... but I can't find anyone to teach me for higher rankings. Grrrrrr!)

Edit: BTW ... try switching the third key and giving the 'other one' to dk. I think that's what I did to get three copies.

I don't think my characters have such high Luck ratings (must check) - I concentrate on Strength and Agility, followed by Speed, then Survival and Constitution. But have found a number of useful 'gold' (Yit) charms to help...

Thanks for the offer <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> - but there was nothing interesting in the tombs - I'm just envious, that's all.

About Sammy in the philosophy level (the dungeon?) => just hop through the rift - you don't get XP for "killing" him

If you mean the "summon a demon" quest => lure him out of the summoning circle - you don't get "killing" XP.

There is only ONE battle, where you have to defeat him => end level. So, spare your potions <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Oh dear. I zapped him till near the end then he vanished. Hmmm.

Now I'm teleoporting backwards and forwards in some area in Lvl 3('Concentration') with a load of tin soldiers (my viewpoint) standing still like a load of tin soldiers. I've concentrated real hard. And get teleoprted real hard. I did make it to the other side in one concentrated effort, but it didn't get me anywhere - what looks like an exit isn't.

Oh well. Back to the zappery... I must learn to concentrate harder. Or something... I've obviously missed something here. (School report ... must learn to concentrate harder

Bravo, concentrate on the NE wall => lever. And after that, concentrate on single mode, so you steer your chars through safely <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Lever? Oh shoot. I missed that. Curses. I went back to the previous save to do some more exploring of Academy lvl 3 before tackling that area again ... and have come to the conclusion this is a cerebral level that needs thinking about as well as the dashing and bashing. I'm slowly working my way round the various puzzlements, trying to work out the significances (and sure in one or two of them I'm missing the point - the dreaming imp? I must revisit him I think. It can't end the way it did for me - they wouldn't waste so much rtime and effort creating all those graphics etc for nothing. Would they!) ... avoiding those 'ghosts' for the time being. Thanks for the clue. I shall wander with renewed ummm, errr, concentration! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

Dream Imp => gives clue how to get a quest item (if you have this quest) - and you meet an "NPC" there, giving the solution to another quest.

All other stuff in there are Easter eggs (shrine from Divine Divinity, his "house" as Lego => stones used to build houses, a kid's toy)

Ahh. Obviously (??) I don't have the required quest yet. At least, I hope I haven't...

I thought the lego house was a bit of a joke tho <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

main char has 112 luck while DK has 75 or 80 luck . this is mainly due to the fact that i made it a point to acquire items that boosted luck after i found out about the combined affect on magic. so my magic items did start improving which in turn helped me boost my luck more. i've also concentrated on str and agil for DK and intelligence for self, w/ several pag & yit charms to boost them. of course after the change in the sharpen weapon, i had to boost my agility on both further. hero has like 800 hp while dk is around 600 or so. my skeleton doll is very strong. not very smart though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> a desicated brain rattles around his skull like a raisin.

so in spite of the emerald amulet and ring being pointed out on the spoiler map, they have no use at all except as gold fodder? interesting. the only reason i really tried to get all the stuff anyway was so i could sell it all.

Yes, I can take it <grmbl> I don't mind <doublegrmbl> - as I said before in another topic concerning "certain" people who hoarded holy water, whereas I only had 2 => I CAN TAKE IT <sulk>

my my, don't we suffer from a persecution complex <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> *duck*

what I was asking was: can we take it (it being the lego house), and place it in our inventory for a keepsake.

.:heh:.

thanks for the comedy.

Nope, too large. You can take the pumpkins - is this a consolation? would fit nicely to the colour of your ava <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />
