Try this: Good luck.
Spoiler : Do you remember the Mutant that found something "shiny" and took it to his master? Remember that you killed a Lich there? Did you read his diary? It is located by what looks like Dragon bones in his room

Visit the southern woods - home to so many friendly earth elemenals - between eathquakes look for a cave.

LOL the elementals are a problem playing two warriors in hardcore mode (twice as many elementals). After that anything else seemed easy.
As with most enemies, the hammer spell is a real crowd killer <smile> if you have a mage in your team. Does nice damage and paralyzes any enemies near where it falls most of the time (enemies occasionally resist paralysis).
With two warriors you just need to run up and pound the darn thing till it dies, keeping a close eye on your health bar. When the ground starts shaking health goes down fast from that earthquake spell so you may need to suck down a potion every round. If a second elelmental is nearby casting you need to either run away fast of just take the damage and tough it out. The space bar is your friend.
By hitting pause constantly to stop the action, having lots of potions (the battlefield merchants restock nicely now), and having gained a level or two in the act 2 BFs before heading south I don't recall ever having anyone actually killed by the elementals since my first game when I was <blush> careless.

It helps (obviously) to have a high earth resistance and make one of your guys carry a shield. Once you get within melee distance the earth elementals switch to a melee attack which you can block. I usually had one guy with a shield and high earth resistance running straight at them (causing all the attack to be directed at him) and the other one following once everything in sight was attacking the first one. Or you can try archers using air arrows with sneak and a hit and run tactic.

I used normal arrows on them and did not have to much trouble. I have skills in bow accuracy, reload time(speed), and point blank. Both characters uses bows on all elementals until I got hold of a two handed weapon.

I didn't have a problem with them with normal arrows either, but hey, I almost NEVER use the special arrows and in this case it does make a difference because those elementals have -87 resistance to their opposite element (air-earth and water-fire). In act 3 I found the cloudstinger and so on series very helpful when sharpened and used by my a3 summoning doll.

You only need 4 statues. Where you place them is important...
Spoiler : Place the 4 statues in the outer circle, and a key will appear in the centre...
