Yes, lvl 10/12 is definitely too low for your lvl 20 char to gain XP, sorry. If you wish to max out XP pts => clear the BF ground levels as soon as you get a key (access) - and then try to make the dungeons after each new key. Why? Because your enemies in-game will be stronger then and higher leveled.
