Unfortunatly i had to watch all the games i could in my favourite Bar in Kos called [color:"yellow"] The Delon Pub [/color] run by Costa and Dimitri by bestisist Greek friends <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />,i had a skinful of the local beer MYTHOS and of coarse shedloads of STRONGBOW which they had on draught <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />.
None of this got in the way of my Sun worshipping 'cos the games kicked off at either 7pm or 9:45pm, and so i am once again rather nicely tanned. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
Engaland were very average in my opinion,the only team i have really enjoyed watching is them Czech's.
Greece have done brill, especially against the Technical sides like Frogs...err sorry France, and Portugal.
Reading thru the thread i saw some refereance to Warm Beer <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />, by this i take it we are talking about "Real Ale" which is Scrumdiddlyumptious <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />,and i do partake to the odd Jug, usually in times of need in the Winter.

Well when Owen scored the first goal,i knew in my heart that england were going to loose.

Having said that the england v portugal match was more like

Portugal midfield v English defence.

The english midfileders for some reason didnt play and so we defended deep and there is only one outcome from that.

The portuguese played with more confidence,indeed had more possession but ultimiatley didnt create many chances which would have been expected of them.

The english defence defended resolutely i think and between them had great team spirit.

Many of the english made a big deal(still are) about the disallowed goal but in football sometimes you get good decisons and sometimes bad.

Like the Italians we get many bad decisons our way.

Ahh well i bet the winner of the Checz/Greece match will win Euro 2004.

Those two teams for me have been the two ones to look out for.

@Morbo wow that´s nice. I like nemisis too. It is Greek but it does not mean "opponent". We use it for something that hunts you. It could be a thought, a person or an event. And it has revenge elements in it. Boy hard to explain.

french are pitiful. their loss isn't trivial as time & time again, they proved to be arrogant & over-confident. like otto rehagle(sp?) said, u only play as well as your opponent allows u to. & no doubt, it is france that allows greece to take opportunity to move in to victory.

@Lucretia, Mythos not bad at all, could not drink to much of it though i'm not really a lager drinker!
I had a terrific time thanks for asking and i was in Kanari Street in Lampi,Kos in the Delon Pub and everything went totally bonkers on the final whistle, cars and mopeds were hammering up and down the street sounding there horns constantly, there were some huge fireworks let off, really deafaning!!and the locals were dancing and waving your national flag with great glee <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
Costa, Demitris and all off the Spiriopoulus family who run the Pub are amongst the best friends you could possibly wish for, and it for this reason that we will be going to the same place next year, our fourth year on the trot!!
