"There was ecstasy in the city's east end after Greece finished off Portugal 1-0 in the final game of Euro 2004. Thousands of joyful fans spilled onto the Danforth and the surrounding streets to show their pride.
Champagne bottles were popped and the bubbly flowed as a sea of blue and white covered the strip, and revellers draped in the Greek flag shouted and danced in the streets causing traffic to come to a standstill. The mood was a little more subdued in the west end, but shortly after their squad's loss, the Portuguese fans broke out the samba drums and whistles and danced along College to salute their team's strong effort."
