@ Kiya Yes we should <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> We would have won a lot of money <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
Thank you for being happy about my country. I think Germany helped us a lot in this case <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> You seemed to believe from the start that Greece could win <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You should have pmed me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> I would have earn a lot of money. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
-Luc has this $ sign in her eyes like Skroutz (sp?) McDuck <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />-
We will have a party tonight. Again <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Don´t know if you noticed but Greeks love parties <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

@ Bernhard your Greek is perfect! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I am so happy today that I can not express my self in English. I find it harder than the rest of the days <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

Bah, the country Germany didn't help. Even if the trainer is of German nationality - it was his training method as an individual. But he wouldn't have succeeded as a single person: it was YOUR team who played and won. And what I really liked => your country people just saw football - the game - and showed a lot of enthusiasm and innocent joy. They deserved it: team and country <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Well, I didn't believe in the Greek success, I hoped for it simply, because I liked the way they played - and I liked the way your Greek fans supported them. It was enthusiasm about a game - not this distorted nationality that makes my bristles stand upright. There were no "military voices".

About the money thingie.... wish I had betted <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

@ Kiya your words make me very proud, thank you. But still I believe that Germany gave us something very important as I have noted some posts before. Dicipline. We all here in Greece were amazed by the way the team functioned. We have never seen them before be so diciplined and have such self confidence. And this is I believe what Otto gave us as a gift. And I think that this is what we miss from our cutlure. What I mean is that Germany did not of course helped us as a country, but we took something from your culture. And it is nice to see people get good influence from each other. That is what I liked the most.

Also Otto with his genlte and kind way he believed in them. We need no more than that. When someone believes in us we think that we have a "moral obligation" not to fail him (Hope this term works in English. In Greek this is something very serious/important. The "moral obligation" I mean). There were coatches in the past that they were spiting on the players. They were calling them names when they played bad. How could someone work like that? How can you be good when your "teacher" does not believe in you? Our goal keeper Nikopolides (who had such a good performance) was not allowed to play because of some problems with the Greek team he was on. You know what Otto did? He called him and said to him that he did not care about the problems and that he did not give a damn if he was not allowed to play. He would play for the National Team period no matter what the organizations would say. Nikopolides cried from joy. He wanted to play so much! And Otto did it. Just like that. I will never forget Nikopolides smile. Ever.

Anyway I see things a bit sentimental here. Maybe because deep in our hearts we all knew that they can play good footbal. But no-one up till now forced them to look inside them and take it out. "The hardest thing is not to gain something, but to realize that you already have it" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> Does this ring a bell to you dearest German friend? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
Please let my heart be grateful for what we learn <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Next time <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> We will be rich <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Discipline => yes, this is important - same goes for team spirit. I'm glad your trainer was able to put confidence into your team. And I really like the way you described how your goal keeper was finally put into the place to show his abilities.
Rehagel would not have succeeded if he would have trained a bunch of "stars" with overblown egos. I saw a lot of them in other teams. "There can only be one" to tell what and how to do it in a team game, so all play together instead of against each other. And thankfully the Greek press supported your team, not putting them down. So, your team was carried by enthusiasm and confidence => by press, fans etc.

Delighted Greece won...start of a new era perhaps for the team. Didn't the government offer to pay off some greek club team debts if the country won?

And a national holiday too perhaps!! Great stuff! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/birthday.gif" alt="" />

otto signed till 2008. So this means that Greece will win the World cup 2006 and euro 2008. But I think the mighty Belgium (Humor me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />) Will be theire to foil that plan.

Thank you so much! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have heard yesterday that Otto wanted to work in Greece and that his wife called herself to the appropriate places. What a woman! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> Could someone please thank her? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Poor Otto! We must have drove him crazy yesterday with all that kissing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> We like kissing very much here <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
