While exploring the Imp Village, I was fighting earth elementals and I (THINK) I (MIGHT) also have killed a spider or two. Can't remember because I killed so many spiders in the north forest, it's all a tangled web (heh).

THEN, I got the tickle spider quest. If the quest spider is generated only after you get the quest, I suppose I will be able to find it. But what if the spider was already in the system and I killed it before I got the quest, am I hosed?

I've already searched most of this huge village before I got this quest. Since the quest, I found 3 docile spiders with whom I couldn't interact. I am afraid that another exhaustive search will just be a waste of time? TIA. Ser Aris

The quest spider only appears after you've triggered the quest. It is conveniently marked "escaped spider". The spider is number 19 on this map.
DO NOT approach the spider before applying the white cream (makes your smell disappear) from the alchemist's house, otherwise the spider will be hostile and you'll break the quest.

Desdemona, thanks and love your tag line. Glad you're not perfect. Didn't do your namsake much good to be so. Of the many quotes on unfairly accused Desdemona, here's a telling one:

Space-ships and time machines are no escape from the human condition. Let Othello subject Desdemona to a lie-detector test; his jealousy will still blind him to the evidence. Let Oedipus triumph over gravity; he won't triumph over his fate.
