If you are fighting the Lord of Chaos, you are past the place of sacrifice for the holy items. The entrance is hidden in a small group of trees/brush just north east of the church in Rivertown (you can not get back there now, except by hex editing).

However, there is potentially a better sword (Sword of the Gods) in the wastelands, in a cupboard in the southern house of a group of 3 houses.
