<span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'> the key to leaving act 3 involves the reassembly of the crystal. there is a final crystal fragment in the 2nd to the last level of the temple. the stairwells in the rooms on either side of that room lead to a chamber that has a symbol in it. i don't know if you have gone down there yet. but once you click the crystal, then i believe you get summoned by the necromancer and are either sent to retrieve one last fragment or to witness his reassembly of the crystal. then you get to fight him. once that is done, you can loot his tower chamber, but once you grab the crystal, you are teleported to the chamber where the crystal fragment was, and the raanar elder turned summoning doll tells you that she sealed the room, then you will be teleported to the location of the academy entrance, after some brief dialogue.
i never was able to get her turned back into a "person", so her doll was still in my inventory. this didn't stop me from leaving to act 4, and i don't know if i missed something, like going back to the right place in the temple complex to complete this. but i did have all 3 runes. also, even though she indicates in the dialogue that the gem is reassembled and she thanks you and apparently takes it, this item still remained in my inventory. however as i said, once you are back in that room, with the gem, this triggers the dialogue and then the teleportation to the Raanar academy entrance.
kill the guardian, watch the ghost enter, pay attention to the words he speaks, then go in, bribe the ghost, learn the correct password, then enter again, and the act changes. </span>
