Divine Divinity is not required to install or play Beyond Divinity.
How far do you get installing BD on your new PC? Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before trying to install? The
patch will not install until after the game is installed (it checks the registry for the install path of the game).
You can copy 3 files off the 2 CDs (do not need the autorun.inf file) into the same folder on your hard drive, and install the game from there, but depending where the problem is, that may or may not help.
