Hello, and thanks in advance for any help. I played Divine Divinity on my older PC but I bought this new HP in Feb. and do not have the original Divine Divinity installed on it. (So obviously that is my first question: is Divine Divinity required to install Beyond Divinity?) Secondly, if not, I don't know why Beyond Divinity won't install on my newer PC...here are my specs: HP Pentium R 4 CPU, 280 GHz, 504 MB RAM, Legacy Audio/Video, Intel(R)Graphics Controller...not sure what other information you need, I'm not too savvy. BTW, I downloaded a couple of patches and nothing seems to work. Thank You
Pat W.

Divine Divinity is not required to install or play Beyond Divinity.

How far do you get installing BD on your new PC? Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before trying to install? The patch will not install until after the game is installed (it checks the registry for the install path of the game).

You can copy 3 files off the 2 CDs (do not need the autorun.inf file) into the same folder on your hard drive, and install the game from there, but depending where the problem is, that may or may not help.

RAZE--Thank you very much! It seems all I had to do was disable McAfee virus scan. It installed just fine and play seems to work perfectly so far! Thank you for taking the time to help!

you should do more than just disable that sucker....
i recommend AVG for all your anti-virus needs,
small, compact,
not a "resource pig" ,
free updates....
and best of all...... it works! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Get your free AVG!

they will e-mail your code and away you go..... problem free! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

and... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif" alt="" /> "don't forget" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif" alt="" /> to disable AV before installing anything, period! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />

Hello

I like Anti-Vir has a free virus scanner, it is made in germany, i like germany, nearly everything i have is made in germany.

This program is free, you don't have to register your e-mail with them which they may use that and give to other companies for advert through e-mail, my friend used to have AVG, but he now gets 300 - 400 e-mails a week, don't know if AVG is responisble for that, but my friend is angry, and he did keep a log of who he sign up with which was only about 15 websites, including AVG, so he blames all the 15 for all the junk he gets, who wants to know about viagra, and other naughty things, he also gets love letters from women, he opened one once and it installed a dialer to dial somewhere to spain, and he lives in United Kingdom, SURPRISE 100 POUND telephone bill for 2 and a half minuts online with that porn site, of course he did not know about the virus, his ISP are not bothered about protecting the customers from that, it should be free protection, but you have to pay an extra 2 pound a month to have all international calls banned and all premium calls banned, now at least if it happened to me with my ISP i will be protected, my ISP will not expect me to pay for that call, i know they sent me an e-mail and told me there policy, although they said to watch out and if it happens to turn off internet and ring there 24 hour support they will then trace it and they may take that company to court. Not like my friends ISP, where they threatened to take him to court and force him to pay the 100 pound he owed them, he paid it anyway, especially when the threatened court action.

you can also try kerio firewall, thats a good firewall.

personally i use mcafee virus scan 8 pro, and i use black ice defender. I never turn either off, even if these game companies ask me to, is it so they can put a virus on your computer, very suspicious hay, don't you agree.

I installed a game once and it said when you play this game you MUST turn off all virus and firewall, and any other background programs that are running, well guess what the game was an internet online only game, hay so just anyone then could hack into your computer while you was playing the game and put a virus on your computer, or maybe you get a virus from another play theat has just sent it through the server to you.
