If you're looking for a good MMORPG, check out DragonRealms, at www.simutronics.com. Its one of the few professionally done text-based MMORPGs out there, and has been around for years, expanding and growing. I would note it has excellent code that allows a ton of effects, too. Good skills, spells, and a nicely balanced variety of professions, as well as many quests in realtime, plenty of combat, and a number of towns to investigate.
